Welcome to the Career Center at CBA, where we empower students to explore, develop, and succeed at UNO and beyond. We prepare students for meaningful work by building bridges with campus, community, and employers.

Career Appointments

We provide individual support and guidance to students who want to take the next step in their professional development. Career counseling sessions are customized to fit your needs. Our office shares your hopes for success and is available to assist you with formulating a career plan, reviewing your resume and cover letter, conducting mock interviews, and more. Schedule an appointment today.

Currently, the Career Center is taking appointments on Tuesdays between 9am-3:30pm.  You can request an appointment with the Career Center at CBA staff by logging into Handshake and selecting ‘CBA Career Advising’.  You can learn more about requesting an appointment through Handshake here.  You can also call 402.554.2365 or send an email to unocareercentercba@unomaha.edu to set up an appointment with an advisor. 

Career Center Events

Students are highly encouraged to participate in Career Fairs. Career Fairs give the students an opportunity to build meaningful networking relationships with employers and also give employers a chance to meet potential candidates.

On-Campus Interviews

As a service to employers and students, we coordinate and host on-campus interviews. Interviews take place in the fall and spring for a variety of full-time, part-time, and internship positions. You can find all employers that will be on campus for interviews through Handshake.

Career Fairs

We host a Career & Internship Fair each spring and fall semesters. Career fairs feature 50+ employers who have current openings for full-time, part-time, and internship positions.

The Fall 2018 Career & Internship Fair is on Thursday, October 18th in the Mammel Hall atrium. Please keep a look out for more updates and a link to register for the fair. Handshake

The University of Nebraska at Omaha has transitioned to Handshake for on campus recruiting, job posting and career fairs.  More information on the transition to Handshake and tutorials can be found here.

JC Penney Suit Up Event

Sunday, September 16th from 6:30pm- 9:30pm

JCPenney at Westroads Mall has collaborated with UNO to provide the opportunity for students to shop career dress apparel at a discount of up to 40% to prepare for your next interview or career fair. More Information regarding this event can be found Here

Meet the Staff

Laura Sansoni, Director, Career Center at CBA

I have been at UNO for the past two years and am excited to join the College of Business Administration! Prior to working in higher education, I received my BSBA with a concentration in Marketing and worked in the private sector for 5 years in sales, account management and event coordination. . I love working at UNO and am excited to work with the students, employers and faculty in CBA. GO MAVS!

 

Gauri Chandra, Graduate Student Worker, Career Center at CBA

I am Gauri Chandra and I am the Graduate Student Worker for the Career Center at CBA. I am currently pursuing my MBA and received my BSBA with a concentration HR and General Management from UNO in May 2016. I will be assisting Laura with On Campus Interviews, Career Fairs and multiple tasks on Handshake. I will be also be taking student appointments at the CBA Career Center. I would highly encourage students to meet me for a Resume Review and would love to help them with other interview strategies. I really love working at the Career Center at UNO.
