Scholarships for Political Science Majors

Darlene & Dr. Orville D. Menard Scholarship

UNO undergraduates majoring in political science who will be seniors in the upcoming academic year are invited to apply for the Darlene & Orville D. Menard Scholarship. The scholarship was established by the University of Nebraska Foundation in 1999 to honor retiring Professor Orville D. Menard. Dr. Menard, the recipient of UNO’s Outstanding Teacher Award in 1971 and the Chancellor's Medal in 1988, agreed to lend his and his wife’s names to a scholarship to be awarded to a political science major entering the senior class.

The Menard Scholarship will be awarded primarily on the basis of academic achievement, without regard to financial need. Applications should include political science courses taken and grades, GPA, awards and scholarships, research, papers and publications; campus and community activities relevant to the academic program, leadership positions held, internships, and other scholarly activities.
