About Javier

Strengths: Includer, Restorative, Positivity, Arranger, Achiever

Javier is from Hastings, NE, and graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 2015. Javier then attended the University of Nebraska Kearney, where he got involved on campus. Javier was a part of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity at UNK and served as the Director of Recruitment as well as New Member Educator. Javier also served on the Interfraternity Council at UNK as the VP of Public Relations and then the Vice President. It was through these different organizations that Javier saw the impact staff and faculty can have on students and knew this was something he would like to do in the future. After graduating in 2019 with his Bachelor’s degree Javier continued his education and pursued a Master’s in High Education Student Affairs and graduated in 2021.

Before UNO, Javier worked at Iowa Western Community College where he was an Admissions Advisor/ Recruiter. Javier traveled across northeast Nebraska and Iowa recruiting students and helped with getting them enrolled in their first semester of classes. Javier also worked as an Advertising Account Executive at the Kearney Hub where he worked with clients to advertise through both print and digital media.

In his downtime, Javier likes to watch movies, listen to music, and hang out with friends and family. On the weekends Javier is usually up early watching the Premier League as he is a supporter of Chelsea FC or at a Unio Omaha game. He also plays pick-up soccer every Thursday with a group of friends.
