About Jasmyn

Strengths: Input, Intellection, Relator, Adaptability, Ideation

Bachelor of Arts – Psychology, 2014
University of Nebraska‐Lincoln

Master of Science – Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education, 2017
University of Nebraska‐Omaha

Jasmyn is a native Omahan who graduated from Omaha Central High School in the class of 2010. She attended UNL as a William H. Thompson Scholar and went on to complete her master's degree at UNO. As a student, Jasmyn was heavily involved on campus. She was a peer mentor in the TRiO Student Support Services office, as well as an active member of the Afrikan People's Union, the OASIS Student Advisory Board, the National Pan‐Hellenic Council Board, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Jasmyn took her time figuring out what she wanted to be when she grew up, and it was the support and guidance of the staff and faculty on campus that helped her to discover her passion for student support and advocacy. During and after completing her master's program she tried out a few different roles ‐ working in residence life, career services, academic advising, and TRiO SSS before finding her home in the Thompson Learning Community.

Outside of UNO, Jasmyn teaches Sociology at Iowa Western Community College. When not working or teaching you can find her in the gym lifting weights, on her couch reading books and watching anime, or, preferably, flying out on a plane!
