NBDC is a cooperative program of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the College of Business Administration of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. NBDC provides direct management and technical assistance to more than 2,000 businesses in Nebraska each year from offices throughout the state. Consultants are business owners, community leaders, MBAs and MBA candidates with credentials and experience in loan packaging, business valuation and exit planning. NBDC has specialists in government contracting, international trade, lean manufacturing and sustainable business practice.
NBDC provides business planning, market research, and capital access assistance to scientists, university researchers and entrepreneurs who are developing innovative technologies with commercial potential.
Professional and Organizational Development
NBDC provides continuing education programs and organizational development services in:

- Project Management and Business Analysis
- Lean Manufacturing
- Office Technologies
Graduate assistants learn how to develop cash flow projections for small businesses and assist in putting together a loan package. They also do basic market research, business plan review and ratio analysis. Most NBDC assistantships last two years and provide a monthly stipend and tuition.
