Mobile App - UNOmaha
UNOmaha is the university’s official mobile app. This app has the ability to send notifications, display various feeds like UNO’s social media and news/events feeds, and many other features to engage its users.
The target audience of the mobile app are current and prospective students. Because of this focus, University Communications and Student Affairs and Involvement work jointly on the app project.
The mobile app will used a phased approach and be included in the Digital Communications Executive Roadmap process.
Phase one was dedicated to setting up the mobile app with assistance from the vendor. Links to key apps include MavCard, MavLink, and Canvas. Phase two will begin
PHASE 2 (August 2018)
- Communication plan to promote the app to students, faculty and staff.
- Piloting Geofence and beacon technology for Durango Days
PHASE 3 (September-December 2018)
- Inclusion of shuttle tracking.
- Direct content strategy with affinity groups such as Business and Finance, Academic Affairs, Student Involvement, and the UNO Bookstore.

Requests for promotion, inclusion in the app and all other requests can be sent to University Communication’s Start Your Project form. From there, your request will be evaluated and discussed by University Communication’s editorial team.
