Make an Impact with the UNO Acts of Service Passport! Give back, connect, and earn rewards! The UNO Acts of Service Passport is your chance to log volunteer opportunities that strengthen our campus and Omaha community. Participate as an individual or with your department, track your service, and unlock exciting incentives. Ready to make a difference? Keep reading to learn how you can get involved!

What Is the UNO Acts of Service Passport?

The UNO Acts of Service Passport is a unique opportunity for UNO staff to log their meaningful service activities across campus and the Omaha community. Through this initiative, staff members can give back, strengthen connections, and earn points toward exciting incentives.

How It Works

Who Can Participate? All UNO staff are encouraged to participate individually or in groups to earn incentives for themselves and their departments.

When?

The Spring 2025 Passport Program runs from March 2 – May 31

Where?

Volunteer opportunities are available in three key areas:

  • Direct Volunteering – Hands-on service at local organizations.
  • Donations & Drives – Supporting community needs through essential item contributions.
  • Education & Mentoring – Sharing knowledge and skills with students and community members.

Passport Volunteer Activities

Select any of the following four collapsible accordions to find great activities/opportunities! This list is not exhaustive, so please feel free to explore other opportunities as you see fit.

From the United Way of the Midlands Hub to Partnership 4 Kids, or the Open Door Mission to Habitat for Humanity Rebuild, there are twenty community organizations (and building!) looking for support on a regular basis. These groups have a myriad of approaches to service, making this part of your passport experience ripe with options.

Get hands on with a Community Service organization today!
Do you have like new items like blankets, school supplies, children's books, or even a bicycle? If so, you've got the opportunity to support dozens of your local organizations who are ready to stretch more use out of your donated items.

Looking to expand your reach and positively impact youth in your community? Whether you are a mentor for the 100 Black Men of Omaha or a Big for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands, there are many ways you can change the trajectory for youth in the metropolitan area.

Join us in making a difference—one act of service at a time!

University of Nebraska at Omaha students, faculty and staff volunteered at various locations in Omaha, Nebraska, on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, as part of the MLK Day of Service. Volunteers started the day at the Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center before heading out to volunteer.
