Have a voice in shaping the staff experience at UNO—nominate yourself or a colleague for the Staff Advisory Council (SAC) today!

SAC represents UNO staff, advocating for workplace improvements and fostering a stronger campus community. SAC members collaborate with university leadership to support professional development, workplace culture, and staff recognition. This is your opportunity to help shape UNO’s future and ensure staff voices are heard.

Nominations and voting for Staff Advisory Council Executive Committee and General Membership will happen each spring.

2025 - 2026 Executive Committee Election Timeline

Nomination and election participation for the Executive Committee is limited to current SAC members.

  • January 15 th - nominations opened
  • February 11 th - nominee presentations at General Meeting
  • February 12 th - voting ballot opened
  • February 24 th - voting ballot closed

2025 General Member Election Timeline

  • March 3 rd - campus-wide nominations opened
  • March 14 th - campus-wide nominations closed
  • March 24 th - campus-wide voting ballot opened
  • April 4 th - campus-wide voting ballot closed

Staff Advisory Council Membership Eligibility

While members of the UNO community are welcome to join us during our regularly scheduled monthly meetings, to engage and participate in ways that impact UNO staff, there is a define series of eligibility markers, as indicated in our bylaws.

According to Article III Organization and Membership, Section 3.06: To be eligible for membership, an employee must:

  1. Be under the administrative authority of UNO.

    OR
  2. Be a University of Nebraska staff person from UNL, UNK, UNCA, UNMC, UNO Alumni Association, or the University of Nebraska Foundation whose workload consists of fifty percent or more conducted on the UNO campus

    AND
  3. Be a regular full-time or regular part-time, managerial/professional or office/service staff member.

    AND
  4. Have successfully completed the new employee probationary period (180 days).

    AND
  5. Be in good standing at UNO or designated campus if external staff.
