Celebrating Outstanding Staff

Staff Advisory Council believes in recognizing and celebrating the hard work, dedication, and contributions of our staff. Our annual awards honor individuals who go above and beyond to support our campus, foster a positive workplace culture, and make a meaningful impact at UNO. These awards highlight excellence in leadership, service, and teamwork, showcasing the incredible efforts of our staff members. Find out how you can nominate a deserving colleague today!

Awards are given out at the Staff Appreciation and Awards Event. Please join us on April 30, 2026 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Thompson Alumni Center. The event is open to all staff on campus, not just award winners.

SAC will award three awards each spring:

  • Unsung Hero Award
  • Above and Beyond Award
  • Staff Excellence Award

Description and Eligibility

Who can be nominated: Any Managerial/Professional or Office/Service staff member

Description:
Staff Advisory Council recognizes outstanding staff members who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and impact within the university community through three annual awards. These awards honor individuals who demonstrate wholehearted dedication to their work, their colleagues, the students and the UNO campus.

This dedication enhances teamwork while contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Recipients for the three awards are evaluated based on their commitment to integrity, problem-solving, and collaboration. Whether through behind-the-scenes contributions, or outstanding achievements in their units, award winners embody the highest standards of service, dedication, and excellence.

Please consider nominating a staff member who embodies these qualities:

  • Problem-Solving & Initiative
  • Promotes Teamwork & Collaboration
  • Positive Impact on UNO Staff Community

Each award winner will receive a monetary awarded, in addition to being recognized at the annual celebration event.

A single nomination form will be used for all submissions.

Nominations will be open: February 26th - March 25th, 2026
