Market Research

Market research validates whether a new product or service actually meets a consumer need and provides realistic insight into the size and location of the market. All NBDC reports are based on secondary market research and most content is customized for your specific needs.

Basic (free to technology commercialization clients) Includes reports on competition; copyright, patent and trademark information; customer profiles, demographics, and financial ratios
Intermediate (fee based on project scope) Includes the basic market research with additional reports on industry trends, direct and indirect competition, market size, and SWOT analysis
Premium (fee based on project scope; free to SBIR/STTR grant applicants) Includes basic and intermediate reports with additional analyses of market trends, challenges for market growth, international market opportunities, and more

Market Research for Technology Commercialization

NBDC provides a free, customized market research report to those who have applied and qualified for NBDC technology commercialization assistance. Since reports can take up to six weeks to produce, SBIR or STTR applicants should request a report as soon as they make the decision to pursue a grant.

Market Research for Exporting

International market analysis is part of NBDC's export consulting service.
