Would you like to earn UNO college credits while in high school? Early Entry is here to help you get started.
There are five steps to applying for UNO course credit in the Early Entry Program:
- Review Program Requirements
- Apply Online and Receive Parental/Guardian Approval
- Pay the Application Fee
- Submit Documents
- Pay Your Student Bill

1. Review Program Requirements
In order to successfully participate in UNO's Early Entry Program, students must:
- Achieve a cumulative 3.00 GPA (on 4.00 scale)
- Communicate interest in program with their Guidance Counselor
- Know what class(es) they would like to be enrolled in
- Students may earn a maximum six (6) credit hours per semester
- Review the courses available via the UNO Class Schedule
2a. Apply Online
The online application must be submitted by the student by the application deadline, which is the Friday before each semester starts. Once the student submits the online application, an email is sent to the parent/guardian to approve participation in the program by the same application deadline.
2b. Receive Parental/Guardian Approval
Once the student submits the online application, an email is sent to the parent/guardian to approve participation in the program by the same application deadline.
Depending on the Parental/Guardian approval/denial of the student's submitted application, the following outcomes may take place.
2b(a). Enrollment Denial
- If the Parent/Guardian denies the application submission OR neglects to approve the application submission by the specific deadline, then the student will not be considered for UNO's Early Entry Program for that semester.
- If the student does not hold a 3.00 cumulative grade point average or higher, then the high school guidance counselor will deny the submitted application.
2b(b). Enrollment Approval
- If the Parent/Guardian approves the application submission, the respective high school guidance counselor will review the submission to see if the student holds a 3.00 cumulative grade point average or higher.
- If the submitted application is approved by the respective high school guidance counselor, then the student will need to pay the non-refundable $45 application fee.
3. Pay the Application Fee
In order for the student's application to be submitted for review, the student needs to submit their application fee payment of $45. There are four (4) payment options in the online application:
