Welcome to our scholarship collective, committed to fostering academic excellence and empowering the aspirations of unique and deserving individuals.
To Apply for DASH Scholarships:
- Apply for admission at UNO. Work with the Admissions Office if you have any questions regarding your application to UNO.
- Once admitted to UNO, students should complete the General Scholarship Application on their MavLink student account. When complete, scholarships that students are eligible to apply for will be listed.
- The following DASH scholarships require applications once the General Scholarship Application is complete, if the student is eligible and unless otherwise noted.
- Additional scholarships within the DASH office are offered case-by-case and do not have applications on the UNO General Scholarship Application.
- Review of applications will begin in late Spring 2025. Please regularly check your UNO and personal email.
- Awards are dependent on funds available and must fit in recipient's aid package.

This scholarship recognizes students who have lived experience in the foster care system, regardless of the duration of system-involvement or current age. |

G. Robert Muchemore Scholarship | The G Robert Muchemore Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with financial need and exceptional academic performance. Edward A. Pechar Scholarship |
The Edward A. Pechar Scholarship honors the donor, a UNO graduate who is the Chairman and principal owner of McCormick Distilling Company of Weston, MO. |
Preference is given to new students that are first generation, financial need, Nebraska resident or designated counties, first-year or transfer student | Renewable for additional four years (five years total) or up to 132 credit hours, whichever comes first, completion of DASH scholarship requirements each semester; 30 credit hours per academic year, 2.5 cumulative GPA per semester, any UNO major | Cost of 30 credit hours per academic year (including summer); Tuition Only |
Phillip Schrager Scholarship for Student Leaders |
Phillip Schrager was an Omaha native who was committed to the betterment of his community. He was an accomplished entrepreneur, a generous philanthropist, and a successful leader. In 1964, he founded the Pacesetter Corporation, which became America’s largest direct-sales manufacturer of home improvement products. In 2004, he sold the sales and manufacturing components of Pacesetter, but he retained the finance portion of the company, which now operates under the name AmeriFirst Home Improvement Finance Company. Mr. Schrager made lasting contributions in the nonprofit sector. Throughout the years, his involvement with civic projects and charitable organizations has included the Bemis Foundation, Beth El Synagogue of Omaha, Boy Scouts of America, Boys and Girls Clubs of Omaha, Children’s Respite Center, Goodwill Industries, Jewish Federation of Omaha, Joslyn Art Museum, Nebraska Arts Foundation, Omaha Symphony, Opera Omaha, Planned Parenthood, Project Harmony, Special Olympics of Nebraska, Temple Israel, United States Holocaust Museum, United Way, and the University of Nebraska Foundation. |

Jim and Shirley Young Scholars | Young Scholars is a privately funded scholarship program that supports first- generation students attending UNO. If selected, students receive a full financial scholarship and also become a part of a community of learners that receive academic, social, and career development support during their college careers. Candidates that are selected typically demonstrate the following qualities; High level of responsibility and reliability in following through with commitments, strong motivation to attend college and complete a degree, interest and track record of participating in volunteer/service activities, and participation in student organizations and extra-curricular activities. | First-generation, financial need, Non-Pell Grant eligible, Omaha Metro high school graduate | Funds will pay for completion of first bachelor's degree or up to 150 credit hours, whichever comes first, completion of DASH scholarship requirements each semester; Full or part-time enrollment, 2.5 cumulative GPA per semester, any UNO major | Full coverage for expenses listed below; Full Tuition, fees, books, and supplies, Dodge on-campus housing |
