Academic Persistence Support Scholarship

Financial support for students facing a crisis, hardship, or unusual circumstance that disrupts their education

Through the generosity of donors, limited funds exist to assist students who, because of crisis, hardship, or unusual circumstances, cannot enroll or cover education-related costs. Faculty and staff are asked to help connect students in need with these funds when appropriate. Nominations must be made by the student's advisor or a faculty/staff member who is acquainted with the student, can verify the accuracy of the information in the application, and can attest to the student's eligibility.
  • Students who may be eligible for federal financial aid must have a current FAFSA on file to be considered for these funds.
    • Students who are not eligible for federal financial aid are still eligible for academic persistence support.
  • Please note these scholarship funds are intended to be awarded one-time to the student's MavLink account to cover tuition, fees, books and supplies, on-campus housing, and overdue balances. The maximum award is $3,500.
    • These funds do not pay for off-campus mortgage or rent or vehicle payments/vehicle repairs.
  • Funds are limited, and not all nominees will receive an award.
  • Applications are reviewed weekly (pending the availability of funds).
