Goodrich offers additional academic and financial support opportunities for our scholars to achieve success.

The Stephenson-Harrington Internship

Scholars pursuing any major who have completed 50 credit hours at UNO and maintained a cumulative 3.0 GPA are eligible to apply and upon acceptance are placed in sites in the community or in major-related offices on campus.

Scholars generally work for about 10 hours a week and receive approximately $1500 for the fall semester. All interns also enroll in a one-hour per week seminar (for which they receive 3 hours of Public Administration credit). The Stephenson-Harrington Internship has existed since 1992 and is well-regarded on campus and in the community.

For more information email unosla@unomaha.edu or call us 402.554.6019.

UNO Pre-Law Support Fund

Financial support and some pre-professional programming are available to Goodrich Scholars who have an interest in pursuing a career in law.

For further information, contact Troy Romero, Ph.D. at 402.554.3466.

The Brittany Williams Memorial Scholarship Award

This scholarship is awarded to a Goodrich Scholar and/or an Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority member in memory of Brittany Williams, an extremely promising Goodrich scholar in her junior year and an AKA member. Her January 2008 tragic death prompted the launching of the scholarship fund. The award is given yearly to a junior (58-90 credit hours) with a cumulative GPA above 3.0 (with no Ws or Fs or AUs or NCs). A brief essay must be submitted within the application period.

For further information, contact Troy Romero, Ph.D. at 402.554.3466.

Alice Romero Memorial Student Support Fund

Started by Goodrich Scholarship Program alumnus Gabe Romero, the Alice Romero Memorial Student Support Fund offers funding to students enrolled in the Goodrich Scholarship Program, enabling them to graduate sooner and with less debt. To be eligible, a student must be a Goodrich scholar with junior or senior standing who has completed the Goodrich curriculum, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Eligible applicants will be asked to submit an essay. Awardees are determined in the Spring semester.

For further information, contact Troy Romero, Ph.D. at 402.554.3466.

Hamilton and Paulette Cook Student Support Fund

Started by Goodrich Scholarship Program alumnae Stephanie Clark in honor of her parents, the Hamilton and Paulette Cook Student Support Fund offers funding to students who are enrolled in the Goodrich Scholarship Program, who are working while going to school, and who can demonstrate financial need.

For additional information, contact Troy Romero, Ph.D. at 402.554.3466.

Summer School

Some summer tuition scholarships are available for active Goodrich scholars through contributions from Goodrich alums and other sources. The availability of funds will be announced in late spring, and all scholars will be notified by UNO email IF funds are available.

The funds will be dispersed on a first-come, first-served basis among those eligible and interested in attending summer school.
