About Stevie Seibert Desjarlais
Dr. Stevie Seibert Desjarlais is an associate professor in the Goodrich Scholarship Program. She received her bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University, her master's degree from San Diego State University, her doctorate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and taught in a postdoctoral program at the United States Military Academy at West Point before joining Goodrich. Her teaching and research interests include U.S. literature, film, popular culture, and critical pedagogy.
Her work appears in the Quarterly Review of Film and Video, the Journal of Popular Film and Television, Western American Literature, and Pedagogy. Her co-edited anthology, Here for All the Reasons: Why We Watch The Bachelor, was published in May 2026. In Goodrich, she teaches core courses in the first-year curriculum (Autobiographical Reading and Writing, American Humanities, and English Composition) and is the faculty advisor for the Goodrich Organization (GO!). Dr. Seibert Desjarlais is the first person in her family to graduate from university and understands the many struggles of college life—she is happy to support all students along their unique educational journeys!
