Elementary Education Master's and Endorsement Programs
The master's program is designed for graduates of education programs who have received initial teacher certification and wish to enhance their teaching skills through advanced studies in instructional practices that are informed by research.
Students seeking admission to graduate programs in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences should first apply through the Office of Graduate Studies at the University of Nebraska Omaha.

Concentrations
Concentrations are required for each candidate seeking a master's degree in elementary education. Students will choose an area of concentration in a special field which will provide depth in an area of interest. Courses within the concentration will be decided in consultation with the student’s advisor. Concentrations can be found below with sample Plans of Study.
Classes often meet once a month during the weekend throughout the school year to allow more flexibility for students. Classes meet for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Summer classes meet every week in June (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) for a total of four sessions.
Classes are offered in a variety of modalities, including in-person, totally online and remote. Please visit the Online at UNO webpage for more detailed definitions of UNO's course modalities.

Elementary Endorsements
Endorsements are additions to teaching certificates and do not lead to initial teacher certification. The coursework for the endorsement plans has been approved by the Nebraska Department of Education. After completion, candidates must apply for the additional endorsement(s) at the state department.
Endorsements include a mix of in-person, hybrid courses (860 sections) and online courses (850 sections). Regardless of the format, courses meet four times throughout the semester (i.e. 860 sections meet four times on campus; 850 sections meet four times via Zoom) with asynchronous work in between touchpoints.
