$20 for Healthcare Professionals - Free for students

This event is for sports medicine professionals and students who commonly provide medical services to athletes in a pre-hospital care environment to learn and practice skills in an interprofessional environment to enhance the quality of care provided to athletes and patients.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe legislative efforts in Nebraska to require EAPs and AEDs for secondary schools.

  2. Explain and demonstrate the appropriate management strategies for a variety of urgent situations including: sickle cell crisis, exertional heat illness, and cervical spine injury.

  3. Summarize the importance of completing a medical timeout prior to beginning an activity or competition.

  4. Outline examination options and describe return-to-play considerations for athletes with sport-related concussions.

Number of CEUs

Children's Nebraska is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Athletic Trainers. This event has been approved for 3.75 Category A CEUs. Athletic Trainers should only report the amount of time actually spent engaged in the activity.
