Physics Education Concentration

Where will a concentration in Physics Education take you?

According to a Gallup survey, physics teachers in the U.S. rate their lives better than all other occupation groups, trailing only physicians! Teach physics. Inspire young minds.

Did you know ...

  • Most teaching jobs offer better retirement benefits than other jobs you can get with the same degree.
  • Student loan forgiveness programs and numerous scholarships are available for physics teachers.
  • You can get a job almost anywhere in the U.S. or abroad as a physics or math teacher.
  • Behind every advance in medicine or technology is a teacher who left a lasting impression.

Courses

A Bachelor of Science in physics with a concentration in education leads to a physics teaching certificate at the secondary-school level. In some cases, you can earn both a B.S. in physics and a B.S. in secondary education. This degree combination provides flexibility, as a B.S. in physics opens many more opportunities should you choose to transition out of teaching. See the catalog for more information and 4-year roadmaps.
