In International Studies, there are opportunities for you to get involved with students and faculty who have similar interests and extend your learning outside the classroom.

Not only are these unique opportunities to meet new people and take on a leadership role, but they also provide you with a chance to enhance your resume with meaningful experiences and involvement.

Student Organizations for students interested in International Studies

International Education Week

Organized by the U.S. Departments of State and Education, IEW is a week to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange. Their activities include leading cross-cultural events, helping with new international student orientations, giving campus tours, picking students up at the airport, and providing settling-in assistance. Selected students will receive an IS&P Global Diplomat polo shirt to wear at events and a $200 scholarship ($100 per semester).

Conversation & Culture Hour

Conversation and Culture Hour is a chance for international and domestic students to interact with each other.

Batchelder Biblical Archaeology Conference

Each fall, UNO hosts the Batchelder Biblical Archaeology Conference, which draws leading authorities in the field of archaeology and biblical research from around the world.

European Studies Conference

Every fall, UNO's Global Studies Conference draws academics, students, and practitioners to Omaha for discussions about the world's most urgent development issues.
