Bachelors of Elementary Education from the University of Kansas, Masters of Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University, PhD in Educational Leadership in Higher Education from University of Nebraska - Lincoln.

Dusten started his career working in the college setting as a student worker (work study) for the Shafer Art Gallery while attending Barton County Community College.  Shortly after transferring to KU Dusten became an Resident Assistant (free room and board) and worked his way up to a graduate assistant in housing.  It was during his time at KU that he realized he wanted to have a career working with college students.  This led him to graduate school at Ball State where he was a Graduate Hall Director and then to Creighton University where he became a professional hall director.
