Samuel Bak Museum: The Learning Center serves as a hub for intercultural dialogue and education on the subjects of art, human rights, Holocaust education, and genocide by inspiring meaningful discussions and thoughtful reflection among all of our visitors. Over his lifetime, Samuel Bak has woven his Holocaust experience, his life story, and his ongoing concerns with contemporary issues to create an iconography of twentieth and twenty-first century history. His use of symbolic elements in surreal spaces encourages contemplation and conversation around human rights issues.
The curatorial goals of the SBMLC are to highlight the various facets of Samuel Bak’s career, his relentless engagement with political and social issues from the 1960s on, and his dedication to combating injustice and prejudice.
