The Order of the Tower is awarded to individuals whose exemplary service and/or financial support have advanced the mission of the University of Nebraska at Omaha. As the policy for the Order of the Tower indicates, the following guidelines are suggested for nominating individuals:
- Achievements of the nominee should have contributed significantly to the mission of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, the greater urban metropolitan area, or embrace the values of the University.
- The Order of the Tower Award shall not be awarded to individuals who are currently employed by the University of Nebraska at Omaha, or any person seeking or holding an elective state or federal office.

Required Documentation for Nomination.
Nominations are due October 31st. The UNO Honors and Awards Committee will review and evaluate all submitted nominations. The committee's recommendations will be forwarded to the Provost's Office by December 10th for further consideration and approval by the Board of Regents. Once approved, the UNO Office of the Chancellor will notify both the nominee and the nominator of the final decision. The Order of the Tower Award is presented during a UNO commencement ceremony.
