- U.S. Strategic Command, a critical part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s unified command structure, is located at nearby Offutt Air Force Base south of Omaha. STRATCOM’s vital mission includes overseeing nuclear and space operations, missile defense, analysis and targeting.
- FBI’s Omaha field office oversees Nebraska and Iowa. The FBI combats terrorism, counterintelligence, cyber crime, and violations of civil rights, among other federal crimes.
- The University of Nebraska Medical Center and its clinical partner, Nebraska Medicine, are home to a National Biocontainment Unit and a National Quarantine Unit. UNMC hopes to play an even bigger role in keeping Americans safe as part of a public-private $2.6 billion plan to create a new medical center and federal all-hazard disaster response military and civilian partnership.
- National Strategic Research Institute, an academic research center focused on combating weapons of mass destruction for the U.S. Department of Defense. NSRI is based at UNO and has a second location in suburban Washington, D.C.

The Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center Located on UNO’s campus, the mission of the center is to engage with local, state, and federal partners to translate academic findings and education outside of the university to our partners. NCITE will collaborate with the Community Engagement Center for large conferences and workshops. With aligned missions of engaged scholarship, NCITE and the Community Engagement Center will partner to form public-private partnerships with Nebraska community organizations to prevent targeted violence and terrorism right here in our own state.
- UNeMed - This uniquely positioned organization helps bring products to market. This is a vital component of NCITE's work in translating research into tools for Homeland Security.
