Post-award Research Services

The post-award phase of research projects includes implementing awarded grants, monitoring expenses, and assisting with reporting and closeout.

Post-Award Services

The College of IS&T Business and Finance Office offers post-award grant. The Assistant Business Manager works closely with IS&T grant awardees and UNO's Office of Research and Creative Activity (ORCA) to maintain budgets, ensure compliance, and manage the grant from initial set-up through award closeout. The Business Administration Specialist handles all personnel needs and further assists with the business aspects of awarded grants.

Award Set-Up

  • Hire personnel
  • Point of contact for faculty to ensure planned costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable
  • Purchasing for research related materials, equipment and services
  • Project-related travel arrangements and reimbursement

Award Management

  • Assistance with award and budget management
  • Guidance regarding research expenditures
  • Monitor compliance with terms of the award and UNO policies
  • Build budget forecasting reports upon request
  • Monthly budget reports

Award Closeout

  • Assistance with no-cost extensions and re-budgets
  • Assistance in verifying expenses
  • Coordination with OSP on award closeout
