The C-MANTIC Robotics lab does research to advance robotics technologies, with a focus on computation techniques based in artificial intelligence and multi-agent systems. Research areas include robot navigation, path planning and task planning, machine learning, autonomous decision making, swarm robotics, and modular robot systems. The lab has led major research projects supported by federally funded grants in the areas of autonomous landmine detection using multi-robots, extra-terrestrial exploration using modular self-reconfigurable robots, automatic target recognition (ATR) using UAV swarms, and design and mobility of a semi-autonomous, colonoscopy robot.
