The C-MANTIC Robotics lab does research to advance robotics technologies, with a focus on computation techniques based in artificial intelligence and multi-agent systems.
Research areas include robot navigation, path planning, task planning, machine learning, autonomous decision-making, swarm robotics, and modular robot systems.
The lab has led major research projects supported by federally funded grants in the areas of autonomous landmine detection using multi-robots, extra-terrestrial exploration using modular self-reconfigurable robots, automatic target recognition (ATR) using UAV swarms, and design and mobility of a semi-autonomous, colonoscopy robot.
