From the Classroom to the Stage: Academic Support Strategies for RTP after Concussion
Athletic trainers are essential to facilitate post-concussion return to learn (RTL) progressions for a variety of athletic populations. Performing arts students have similar cognitive and physical demands to varsity student-athletes, yet have been overlooked in contemporary concussion literature until recently. The Progressive Return to Performance Protocol serves as a framework to support cross-campus communication between medical and academic teams by providing specific recommendations to support students returning to dance, music, and theatre activities.
