About Jake

Current Program:
PhD in Biomechanics & Kinesiology

Undergraduate Degree & Institution:
B.S. in Athletic Training, Whitworth University, Spokane, WA

Master's Degree & Institution:
M.S. in Exercise Science, Central Washington University, Ellensburg, WA

Research Interests:
Jake’s research focuses on assessing visual reliance in those with chronic ankle instability. His upcoming work will focus on assessing visual reliance after a rehabilitation program using different visual training techniques. He has also examined jump landing using different assessment techniques.

Personal Background:
Originally from Spokane, WA, Jake has experience as a certified athletic trainer working with collegiate volleyball, softball, soccer and tennis teams. His long-term goal is to teach in an Athletic Training Program as a faculty member. Outside the lab, Jake enjoys playing golf and watching sports.

Fun Fact:
Jake started his undergraduate schooling with a jazz saxophone scholarship.
