Biography

Dr. Erin Bass joined the Department of Management of the College of Business Administration in 2014. She holds a PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. A native of Calgary, Canada, she has experience in the energy and non-profit sectors. She has worked as a strategic consultant for Omaha-area private, public, and non-profit organizations on local, national, and international projects.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Erin Bass teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in strategic management and business ethics. She enjoys teaching executives, and has taught in the Executive MBA and Executive Education programs at UNO and in the University of Calgary's Global Energy Executive MBA Program. She has an award-winning teaching case in "Case Studies in Sustainability Management" published by oikos.

Research Interests

Dr. Erin Bass actively researchers how firms acquire and develop resources and capabilities, how firms are evaluated by stakeholders, and the strategy of corporate social responsibility. Her research has appeared in notable journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, and Journal of Management, among others.

Service Summary

Dr. Bass currently serves on the Editorial Boards for Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Leadership & Organizational Studies, Management Decision, and the CASE Journal. She is also a jury member for the oikos Case Writing Competition. She is a member of the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society. Dr. Bass serves on the Award for Distinguished Research or Creative Activity (ADROCA) committee for UNO, the Strategic Planning Council for UNO CBA and has served as both a FUSE and GRACA faculty advisor for students at UNO.
