For Students Interested in Becoming Occupational Therapists
Occupational therapy is a science-driven, client-centered field. The ability to develop treatment plans for a variety of patients, with a variety of conditions requires a background in ethics, cultural diversity, anatomy, psychology and research.
Creighton University offers a degree in occupational therapy at the doctoral level. To be able to apply to this program, a bachelor’s degree is required, along with the successful completion (C or higher) of the required courses. College of Saint Mary offers a degree in occupational therapy at on the master’s level. Students may begin this program at College of St Mary right after high school or transfer the required courses into their program. No grade below “C” will be accepted. Students should plan to apply for acceptance one year before the intended start date. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA to transfer into the program. A Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) is not required to practice occupational therapy, at this time.
