Biography

Hillary Nather-Detisch is the Executive Director of Samuel Bak Museum: The Learning Center where she is leading the efforts to create a space with art for intercultural dialogue.

Hillary is creating a new unit within the university that will offer a source of collaboration and opportunities to students, faculty, and staff with the broader community around art, Holocaust education, human rights, and genocide – helping to better prepare students with a sense of purpose, civic responsibility, critical thinking, inclusivity, and cultural awareness.

She has over two decades of experience professionally fundraising and grant making for various non-profit organizations in Omaha, including some of the largest community campaigns and projects at Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha Community Foundation, United Way of the Midlands, Omaha Children’s Museum, and Inclusive Communities.

Hillary serves as adjunct faculty for the UNO College of Public Affairs and Community Service and faculty for the Certification in Fundraising Management program. Hillary was the Association of Fundraising Professionals Nebraska Chapter 2021 Fundraiser of the Year.

She is committed to giving back to the community and has served on numerous nonprofit boards and committees. Currently, she is active on the board of Filmstreams and Launch Leadership as well as serving on the leadership committee for YMCA Camp Kitaki.
