From November 18 through December 6

This annual effort is so important to who we are as a campus community because, as we say, Omaha is our campus and when we say that we do not simply talk the talk, we walk the walk.

From Nov. 18 through Dec. 6, you will have several opportunities to give back, including a one-stop portal where you can make an easy one-time or recurring donation through a variety of options, as well as the chance to round up purchases made on campus. Every little bit helps us reach our goal!

United Way of the Midlands

United Way of the Midlands

With your support, we can continue to help those who are struggling right here in the metro. When you make a gift, you’re investing in more than 100 local nonprofit programs alongside thousands of other donors. Together, these programs are addressing pressing social and economic disparities and meeting families’ essential needs, such as healthy food, a safe place to go after school, and a stable job.

That means, with just one donation, you are creating an entire circle of support around our community.

Because UWM is committed to keeping our costs low, you can feel good knowing 93¢ of every dollar you donate is going back into our community. United Way of the Midlands also collects program results, measures impact, and shares it with you so you can see the results of your investment firsthand.

This year, United Way has set up a one-stop shop portal to help you choose the donation method that works well for you. During this time, you will also able to donate directly by “rounding up” select on-campus purchases at Durango's Grill, Maverick Den, the MBSC Food Court, and the Maverick Store.

How to Donate to United Way Online

It's easy to make an online-pledge!

  1. Visit the donation website
  2. For User ID, type in your eight digit NU ID number
  3. For Password, type in Community24!
  4. Click the Login button (you do not need to create an account)
  5. Update your password if needed

You can choose to donate through a one-time online payment via Credit Card or being billed directly by United Way. As an additional option, benefits-eligible employees can also opt to make one payment or a series of payments over the course of a year through a payroll deduction.

Give Nebraska

Give Nebraska

As an alternative or in addition to supporting the United Way of the Midlands, faculty and staff are also asked to consider supporting Give Nebraska.

Founded by Nebraska nonprofits for Nebraska nonprofits, Give Nebraska makes it easy to donate to the local causes you care most about. With the Give Nebraska giving model, no gift is too small. Whether giving $1 or $5, your dollars, combined with contributions from workers across the state, are critical in supporting our community.

Give Nebraska is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, as are all of its member agencies. Gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Those interested can donate to Give Nebraska.
