Mapping Militants Project

Project Summary 

The Mapping Militants Project, founded in 2009, is a database of the characteristics and behaviors, histories, and interactions between violent militant or extremist organizations on a global scale. With over 100 groups represented and over 139,000 views from July 2025 to July 2026, the MMP is a critical resource for research, education, and practice worldwide. An NCITE-funded team manages the site’s maintenance and updates.
