About Dimitri

Current Program:
PhD in Biomechanics and Kinesiology

Undergraduate Degree & Institution:
B.S in Biomechanics, University of Nebraska at Omaha, 2023

Master’s Degree & Institution:
M.S. in Biomechanics, University of Nebraska at Omaha, 2025

Research Interests:
Dimitri’s research focuses on baseball and softball biomechanics, with a primary focus on how biomechanical and clinical evaluations can improve pitching performance and decrease injury risk. He is also interested in using marker-based motion capture to investigate how pitchers’ biomechanics change as they fatigue throughout a game, and using markerless motion capture to analyze the biomechanics of hitting.

Personal Background:
Dimitri is originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he played baseball for the local American Legion team as a starting pitcher. His interest in baseball and biomechanics led him to begin working at the UNO Pitching Lab in January 2022. His long-term career goal is to be a sports scientist and biomechanist for a professional sports team. Outside of the lab, he enjoys cooking, golfing, snowboarding, and recreational powerlifting.

Fun Fact:
Dimitri has snowboarded double black diamond trails at elevations of over 13,000 feet.
