About Cara
Current Program:
PhD in Biomechanics and Kinesiology
Undergraduate Degree & Institution:
BA in Exercise Science and Pre-Athletic Training, with a minor in Sports Leadership, Chadron State College, 2022
Master’s Degree and Institution:
MA in Athletic Training, University of Nebraska at Omaha, 2025
Research Interests:
Cara’s research focuses on the treatment of patellar tendinopathy and chronic ankle instability. She is particularly interested in clinical care of these conditions and other injuries and has a special interest in Blood Flow Restriction.
Personal Background:
Originally from Gilbert, Arizona, Cara moved to Nebraska for school in 2020 and hasn't left since. She has clinical experience working as a certified athletic trainer working with Division 1 collegiate soccer and swim & dive teams. Her long-term career goal is to continue working with clinical populations and sports and to eventually work as a faculty member in an athletic training master's program, helping to teach the next generation of athletic trainers. Outside the lab, she enjoys reading, watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with her friends.
Fun Fact:
Cara can solve a Rubik’s cube in under 30 seconds, though her best time is under 20 seconds!
