About Brandon
Current Program: PhD in Biomechanics
Undergraduate Degree & Institution: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, University of New Mexico, 2024
Master’s Degree & Institution: M.S. in Biomechanics, University of Nebraska at Omaha, 2025
Research Interests: Brandon’s research focuses on integrating biomechanics research with applied sport performance to deliver actionable insights for athletes and coaches. Specifically, his research investigates different biomechanical perspectives (energy flow, power analysis, sequencing, etc.) in the pitching motion and ways to apply them to an athlete to promote on-field success. His current research investigates the physiology of pitchers in an attempt to reduce injury risk and increase performance.
Personal Background: Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Brandon has personal playing experience as a hitter (JUCO, DII) and pitcher (JUCO, DII, DI) at various levels of baseball. His career goal is to work for a professional baseball organization as a biomechanist, combining his love for the game and his biomechanics research. Outside the lab, he enjoys playing a wide variety of sports including golf, baseball, basketball, sand volleyball, and skiing as well as being active in the church.
Fun Fact: Brandon lived in five different states (OH, CA, NM, NE, AK) in five years.
