Fall 2026 Prelude Strings

Registration for Fall 2026 Prelude Strings is now open!

  • Prelude Strings is an 8-week introductory strings ensemble for OAYO.
  • Rehearsals are on Sundays from 1:30 - 3:30 P.M. at UNO Strauss Performing Arts Center.
  • Rehearsals start on September 20th, and run weekly until the November 8th Concert.

For more information on the program, including scheduling and registration fees, please view our flier here. Registration is due by Friday, September 4th. Prelude Strings utilizes a tiered pricing structure where participants wil choose their registration price from $40 to $135 ($135 being the true cost of the program)

  • Fall Prelude Strings is open to students who can read notes on the D, A, and G strings.
  • There is no audition needed to participate in Prelude Strings.

Auditions for OAYO's 2026-27 Season are currently closed.

Audition materials and link to submit auditions can be found on our Audition Materials page.

All auditions will be submitted as video recordings via Submittable.

Late auditions may be accepted for select instruments and ensembles. Want to be notified if an audition spot opens up? Join our email list to receive audition reminders.

Students will be placed in the ensemble that is the best fit for them based on:

  1. Their audition
  2. Balancing instrumentation between the ensembles (strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion).

OAYO strives to place each student in an ensemble that is the best fit for their demonstrated skill level.
