UNO + OAYO Chamber Music Institute 2025

The Chamber Music Institute is an intensive five-day small ensemble experience (June 11-15, 2025) for advanced high school players (woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion, and voice). Groups will be coached, and some may be joined by professional musicians and educators.

Qualifications

Please visit the website for specific instrument qualifications and audition requirements Students who are currently members of the OAYO Youth Symphony (YS) do not need to prepare an audition but must complete the application paperwork.

Audition Requirements

  • 2 scales of your choice
  • 2-3 minute solo or etude

Required excerpts for your instrument (see below under audition materials)

Rough Schedule

Wednesday, June 11: late afternoon and early evening

Thursday, June 12 – Saturday, June 13: afternoon

Sunday, June 14: afternoon performance

Sample Daily Schedule (subject to change):

12:30 P.M.: Check in

1 - 2:30 P.M.: Coaching / Rehearsal

2:30 - 3 P.M.: Break

3:30 - 4 P.M.: Group Activity / Presentation / Masterclass

4 - 5 P.M.: Coaching / Rehearsal

5 P.M.: Finish for day

Ages

Students completing grades 9-12 by June 1, 2025, including graduating seniors.
