Scholars network with the business community beginning their first semester and continuing through graduation.

Mentors

More than 60 business professionals from Omaha volunteer annually to serve as mentors to students in the Scholars Academy. These mentors commit to meeting with a Scholar monthly from September through April to discuss career goals, give advice, and build the Scholars' network.

Business Visits

Companies in the Omaha area also host Scholars for business visits, giving students a glimpse into what a career would look like in a specific field and company. Participating companies have included Union Pacific, Fiserv, Dundee Bank, LinkedIn, First National Bank, Valmont, and more.

"I am pushed by the Academy to be the best me every single day. If there is one thing I have learned from this Academy, it's that establishing a strong work ethic now will set me up for success later in life."

-Kaleb Heckens, 2018 Scholar
