Research Participation Program (RPP)

The Research Participation Program (RPP) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha's College of Business allows students to earn required class credit or extra credit by participating in ongoing research studies. The program's primary goal is to expose students to the diverse research conducted within the college. Students can fulfill the research experience requirement in one of two ways:

  1. Participating in research studies
  2. Writing research briefs.
Participation is tracked through Research Participation Units (RPUs), which are reported to instructors. Students must earn the number of RPUs specified by their instructors, and each unit can only be applied to one course.

Your SONA account is how you access and schedule your appointments with the lab. If you are a student that has previously been enrolled in a class that uses SONA to earn course credit, you may already have an account with us.

Log in to your account

However, if you are new to the SONA system and don't have an account, follow the instructions linked in the button below to create an account for participating in our research studies!

Under that, you'll see 'Units Earned by Course,' which confirms the study credits (units) required for your select course(s).

Your SONA ID is the 5-digit, unique number assigned to you when you created your account. It was emailed to you upon account creation, but you can also find it by logging in to SONA and clicking "My Profile."

Your SONA ID is the "Identity Code" located under your name.

You bet. In SONA, click 'Forgot Password?' to receive an email with a link to reset your password. After clicking the link, you'll receive another email containing your username and new password.

No. SONA credits earned from one study can only be applied to one class. To earn credits in multiple classes, you must participate in multiple studies.
