Biography

Professional Activities:Gary S. Marshall is a Professor in the School of Public Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. His research emphasizes the centrality of human identity as it relates to work in public agencies. He is a recipient of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Alumni Association's Outstanding Teaching Award and serves on the editorial boards of Administrative Theory & Praxis and the International Journal of Organization Theory and Behavior. He has worked internationally with the Center for Democratic Network Governance in Denmark. He is currently Board Chair of the Public Administration Theory Network. Dr. Marshall is also a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner and was co-editor of the Lacanian Compass, a U.S. based publication on the work of Jacques Lacan.

Research Interests

Dr. Marshall's research focuses on human identity as it relates to work in public agencies. He has been published in leading academic journals such as Public Administration Review, the American Review of Public Administration, and The American Behavioral Scientist.

Dr. Marshall has conducted pro bono mental health counseling services for Heartland Family Service.
