Outside the Classroom Learning

Outside the classroom learning experiences are often the most memorable learning experiences, and they help us to make sense of the world around us by connecting feelings and learning. These experiences stay with us into adulthood and influence our beliefs, lifestyle and work. They influence our values and the decisions we make. They allow us to transfer learning experienced outside to the classroom and vice versa.

Medical Field Interests

Pre-Health Advising

When you hear the term "medical field," you may think about physicians or nurses, but there are many other occupations in health care to consider. Our Pre-Health Advisor can help you explore all that the rich field of the Allied Health Professions has to offer.

UNO Pre-Med Program

Many students attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha are interested in a career in medicine. UNO wants to be sure you succeed and offers a Pre-Medicine Advising Program.

This program provides resources to help you answer questions such as:

  • Is a medical career the right path for me?
  • Are there ways to volunteer in the medical field while I’m still a student?
  • How do I apply to medical school?

UNO Pre-Health Professionals Student Club

The purpose of the Pre-Health Professionals Club is to expose members to multiple careers and elements in the field of healthcare through speaker presentations and healthcare-related events, as well as providing a resource for students who are interested in pursuing a career in health care.
