How to get care at the Nebraska Medicine UNO Health Center

  • Currently enrolled UNO students are eligible to use all UNO Health Center services.
  • UNO employees are eligible for immunizations and urgent care services only.

Step 1: Schedule Your Appointment

Call 402.554.2374 to schedule an appointment. Please dial the full 10-digit number whether on or off campus.

Appointments are required for most services. Drop-in visits are not accepted. In-person and telehealth visit options are available depending on your concern.

Call anytime Monday through Friday, 8 A.M. - 4 P.M. to schedule an appointment.

You will need to provide:

  • Your basic demographic information
  • Your current symptoms
  • Reason for your visit

If you are an existing patient, you can schedule certain return visits on your One Chart | Patient portal account instead of calling.

If you do not have a phone and need COVID testing, email UNO Health Security at unohealthsecurity@unomaha.edu to assist.

Step 2: Activate Your Patient Portal

After scheduling your first appointment, you will receive an email from Nebraska Medicine with a personalized link to set up your One Chart account. Complete your account registration before your appointment begins.

If you do not have a social security number or are a minor without a Power of Attorney form on file, you will not be eligible to use the patient portal.

If you schedule a telehealth appointment, you will access your appointment through your patient portal. If you are ineligible for the patient portal and scheduled a telehealth appointment, you will receive an email with a Zoom link for your telehealth visit.

Step 3: Prepare for Your Appointment

Whether your visit is in-person or via telehealth, be sure to have your insurance card and photo ID handy.

Arrive 15 minutes early for your in-person or telehealth appointment to get checked in and complete the necessary paperwork. If you are 10 minutes late, your appointment may be rescheduled.

Cancellations

If you are no longer able to make your appointment, call 402.554.2374 (please dial the full 10-digit number whether on or off campus) as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule. This allows us to offer your appointment time to another student who may need it.

Additional Reminders

  • The University Program and Facilities Fee (UPFF) covers the cost of select services. If you need a service that has a charge, we can submit it to your private insurance. Learn more about cost, insurance, and student fee coverage.
  • Parental or legal guardian consent is required for students 18 and younger. Your parent or guardian can complete a Power of Attorney form, or we can call them at the time of your visit. Please keep in mind time zone differences.
  • Currently enrolled UNO students paying UPFF fees are eligible to use the UNO Health Center. Faculty and staff are eligible for urgent care and immunization visits.
