Mission

Our mission is to collaboratively develop and implement strategic initiatives that empower the Staff Advisory Council at the University of Nebraska at Omaha to effectively advocate for the needs and aspirations of our staff community.

Objectives

The committee aims to drive positive change, enhance transparency, and ensure the long-term success and resilience of our workforce in alignment with organizational and council goals.

Long-term Goals

  1. Staff Engagement: Establish mechanisms for soliciting input and feedback from staff members of all classifications at UNO, ensuring that their voices and perspectives are reflected in the development of strategic priorities and initiatives.
  2. Collaboration and Partnerships: Foster collaboration and partnerships with campus stakeholders, and departments, to leverage resources, share expertise, and maximize the impact of strategic initiatives.
  3. Transparency and Celebration: Ensure transparent communication with staff regarding planning process, progress, and outcomes, fostering a sense of ownership and accountability among all of campus.

Yearly Expectations

  • Identify SMART Goals for upcoming council year to support long-term goals.
  • Identify tasks and set timelines for accomplishing council year goals.
  • Conduct a bi-annual Climate Survey for all of the staff; next survey Summer 2025.
  • Review and relay data from Climate Survey to SAC Executive Council for campus feedback to be worked into the overall mission and objectives SAC sets to accomplish.
