Maverick Food Pantry Volunteer

Most volunteer slots are filled within the first few weeks of the semester; however, we accept volunteer applications on an ongoing basis. Volunteers provide assistance for a few hours on a weekly basis during the pantry's hours of operation.

Volunteers perform a variety of services including, but not limited to:

  • assisting guests
  • stocking, organizing, and verifying inventory
  • monitoring food per safety guidelines
  • cleaning
  • volunteering at MFP-sponsored events (donation drives, tabling, etc.)

Requirements

  • Education: Any majors, minors, or interests!
  • Time commitment: Must commit to a minimum of one semester with the expectation of volunteering 1-3 hours per week. The schedule is filled at the beginning of each semester. However, since vacancies frequently open, students are welcome to apply at any time.
  • Volunteers are expected to maintain positive behaviors that reflect the guiding values of the Maverick Food Pantry. All volunteers are required to complete training related to policies and procedures, including confidentiality agreements.
