Transition Back to PeopleAdmin – Effective January 5, 2026

UNO Human Resources is preparing for an upcoming change to improve the hiring experience for our campus community. After reviewing our current tools and gathering feedback from users, UNO will return to PeopleAdmin for Applicant Tracking and Position Management beginning January 5, 2026.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

What’s Changing

  • Starting January 5, all new job postings, position descriptions and position management actions must be entered in PeopleAdmin.
  • Any postings already created in SuccessFactors will continue there through completion.
  • Position descriptions will be entered into PeopleAdmin and for existing descriptions not currently in PeopleAdmin please contact Compensation to help as needed.
  • Routing and approval workflows will revert to the previously used PeopleAdmin process.

What’s Not Changing

  • Hiring policies, required documentation, and approval expectations remain the same.
  • Background checks, reference checks, and compliance steps will continue through existing processes.
  • Position description classifications, processes and policies are not changing.

Why the Change?

Returning to PeopleAdmin will provide:

  • A more stable and familiar system for campus users
  • Better alignment with UNO’s established position management practices
  • Less administrative time during posting and hiring
  • Alignment with recent transitions at UNL and UNMC, ensuring consistency across campuses.

Support for Users

Updated quick-reference guides and training materials will be shared before go-live.

Email: unoemployment@unomaha.edu.

More details will be included in upcoming newsletters as we prepare for the transition.

Frequently Asked Questions: Transition Back to PeopleAdmin

Effective January 5, 2026 Below are answers to the most common (and likely uncommon!) questions we expect as UNO transitions back to the PeopleAdmin Applicant Tracking & Position Management system.

We heard feedback from hiring managers and HR partners about functionality, workflow clarity, and system stability. After review, PeopleAdmin better supports UNO’s current recruitment and position management needs and aligns more closely with our existing processes.

January 5, 2026.
All new job postings, position descriptions and position actions will start in PeopleAdmin on this date.

Yes.  Currently posted searches will be completed in SuccessFactors, and we will phase out the system entirely over the course of the next few months.

Job Postings & Recruitment

They will stay in SuccessFactors until:

  • The posting is closed
  • The search is completed
  • The hire is finalized

No reposting is required unless the department chooses to move the position (by contacting HR).

Maybe — HR will advise whether it makes sense based on timing, applicant volume, and workflow stage.

  • For postings created before Jan 5 → candidates apply in SuccessFactors.
  • For postings created Jan 5 or later → candidates apply in PeopleAdmin.

Campus job boards and the UNO employment site will clearly direct applicants.

Yes. PeopleAdmin continues automated posting to core boards. Specialized or discipline-specific ads will continue to be processed by request from the hiring department.

Position Management & Workflow

All position descriptions, updates, and classification-related actions will be completed in PeopleAdmin beginning Jan 5.

Routing and approvals will follow the pre-SuccessFactors workflow that campus users are familiar with.

Compensation will extract current active position descriptions from SAP’s Firefly Position Management tool and either update or create a PeopleAdmin Position Description.

If you need an existing position description moved into PeopleAdmin right away, please contact Compensation at either email: sophienewman@unomaha.edu or dgschumacher@unomaha.edu.

Please reference HR FAST training for soon to be offered PeopleAdmin Position Description tool refresher trainings and contact HR Compensation as needed.

No. Your approvers and required documentation remain the same, only the platform shifts.

Onboarding

No. Because our campus never implemented the onboarding module in SuccessFactors, Onboarding continues as it does today.  Use the Docusign PowerForms for paperwork and signatures and route the PAF through your usual channels.

Technical & Access Questions

If you used PeopleAdmin previously, your account will be reactivated.

If you do not have a PeopleAdmin account and need one, if you need your permissions updated, or if you’re having trouble logging in, contact Human Resources at unoemployment@unomaha.edu.

No new training will be required, but the Talent Acquisition team is ready to provide assistance and training as needed for users.

User guides will also be available.

Applicant and posting data will remain in SuccessFactors for all searches that started there.
Position data already stored in PeopleAdmin will remain accessible.

Impact on Current Work

  • Open postings stay in SuccessFactors.
  • New postings or new position updates start in PeopleAdmin.
  • HR will assist with any cases that fall “in between.”

No. The change is designed to reduce bottlenecks and streamline workflow.

Support

Email unoemployment@unomaha.edu.

HR partners will also receive additional guidance to support their departments.

Yes. Additional information, guides, and reminders will appear in monthly HR newsletters and on the HR website.

No 'Regional/Local Footer' has been selected.

If desired, use the 'site: Human Resources/_includes/footer-local' file to either choose a 'Regional Footer' or use the 'Local Footer' option.
