Tara Grell, Graphic Designer

As graphic designer for CPAR I focus on designing infographics, reports, and visuals to best represent our team’s work. I occasionally assist other units within CPACS on graphic design projects including reports for NCJR and JJI; grant application graphics or presentations for the Department of Gerontology; and more! I am part of the CPAR team helping to promote rural transit across Nebraska. On this project I expanded on my graphic design skills and am the web designer for nebraskatransit.com. I also assist rural managers by creating promotional materials for their agencies. I enjoy taking on new projects. Please contact me if I can be of assistance, Education and Credentials B.S. What is your approach to working with a community partner? |
I like to learn about the audience for the product we are creating so the message and format are clearly targeted toward that audience. I prefer to know how the partner plans to use the end product because a mailer, an infographic, and a digital report are all shared in different ways and should each be designed with a different plan. This also helps me to suggest new or additional options that may not have been considered. |
What is your favorite recent project you worked on? |
I enjoyed compiling the COVID-19 Impact on Nebraska Businesses reports. The timely information highlighted how businesses statewide were surviving during the pandemic. It was nice to know something we worked on would inform others across the state about the impact on their industry. |
Why Omaha? |
I frequently visited Omaha while living in Lincoln for 11 years and I loved the small community feel of such a large city. The numerous small businesses and concert venues, and Omaha’s support for them, made my decision to accept a job in Omaha and eventually move here an easy choice. |
Favorite vacation spot? |
It’s a tie between Colorado and Phoenix, Arizona – both have great places for hiking and my husband and I can catch the Los Angeles Dodgers playing baseball in both locations every year! |
