  5. Expectations and Requirements

The CBA Scholars Academy offers an immersive scholarship experience for future business leaders, blending academic excellence, professional growth, and global exposure. Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain a minimum GPA, complete the program curriculum, engage with mentors, and participate in a study abroad experience during their third year.

Students must fully commit to attending workshops, networking events, and reflection activities to foster both personal and professional development. Renewal of the scholarship requires consistent academic performance, active participation, and completion of all program components, including the required study abroad program.

Academic Commitment

  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Enroll as a full-time student in the College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
  • Notify the Scholars Academy of any changes to your academic standing, major, or enrollment status.

Professional Engagement

  • Attend required events, such as business visits, orientations, retreats, and workshops as part of the Scholars Academy.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to communications from the Scholars Academy staff.
  • Represent the Scholars Academy positively in all professional and academic settings.

Study Abroad Requirement

  • Participate in the designated study abroad experience during your third year as part of the Scholars Academy curriculum.
  • Engage fully in pre-departure meetings, assignments, and post-trip reflections.

Mentorship Participation

  • Meet with your assigned mentor at least six times per academic year.
  • Come prepared for mentorship meetings with discussion topics, goals, or questions.

Curriculum Completion

  • Fully participate in and complete all Scholars Academy required courses.

Program Reflection and Feedback

  • Complete any required surveys, evaluations, or reflections to help improve the Scholars Academy.
  • Submit an end-of-year reflection on my experiences, goals, and how the Scholars Academy has impacted you.
