Senior Q&A

What impact has the Scholars Academy had on your career goals?

The CBA Scholars Academy program has had a big impact on my career goals from the beginning in helping me decide to attend UNO in the fall of 2018. The Scholars Academy Coach program has fostered unique professional relationships and networking opportunities for me with local business professionals that have helped guide me into the supply chain and emergency management careers I have studied for. From the Scholars Academy business visits to the specialized cohort courses on day one, these experiences have helped shape my personal and professional toolbox and develop the career goals that I have set for myself.

What experiences have been most valuable to you in the Scholars Academy?

The CBA Scholars Academy program has provided myself and others with multiple life-long experiences throughout the four years that I have been in the program. One of the more valuable and insightful experiences for me was going through the Scholars academy seminar course that focused on professional development of both my resume and LinkedIn. The Scholars Academy Coach program was a unique resource that connected me to local business professionals who helped me understand the careers I was studying for and the tools for success after graduation. The business visits that the Scholars Academy offered only furthered my understanding of the local business community as well as expand my network.

Why should a high school student consider applying to the Scholars Academy?

I would encourage any high school student interested in applying to the CBA Scholars Academy to apply. This a great program that not only shapes a unique college experience for yourself and your fellow scholars but also provides tools for success regardless of the major or career you decide to embark on. The scholarship and unique business networking opportunities available through this program allow you to gain new insights to the local business community as well as career opportunities across the globe. The specialized cohort classes create a distinctive learning environment and provide greater access to instructors while getting to work with your cohort classmates.
