Biography
Undergraduate work completed at University of North Texas at Denton, Texas - Masters degree in Chemistry - Southern University at Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction - University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE.
Has been in the field of education for thirty-nine years: chemistry teacher (15 yrs), science supervisor (8yr), and University instructor, professor (16 yrs.).
Awards/Honors: Teaching of Excellence Award (2000); Oxford Rountable Alumnus (2002 and 2009); Traveled to Africa to conduct the first Science Institute and to teach (2005, 2006, 2007). Presented a science workshop for teachers in Haiti and the Dominican Republic in January 2011. Served as Co-Principal Investigator for two major National Science Foundation grants at the Omaha Public Schools and the University of Nebraska Omaha ($ 3.7 million and $4.5 million) over ten years. Served as Co-PI for the NRI Nebraska Teach Grant. Currently serving as the Co-PI for the UNO's Eureka Girl's Inc. Summer Project. This is a five year project.
