Master of Accounting (MAcc)

  1. UNO
  2. College of Business Administration
  3. Accounting
  4. Graduate Program

Affordable, high-quality graduate accounting education

The UNO Master of Accounting program is AACSB accounting-accredited, one of only three programs in Nebraska.

Our MAcc program is an approved STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Designated Degree Program. Under the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program, international students who graduate from the program may stay in the United States and receive training through work experience. Eligible F-1 students with STEM degrees who finish their program of study and participate in this initial period of regular post-completion OPT have the option to apply for a STEM OPT extension.

Professional Preparation

The UNO MAcc degree program provides a high-quality graduate-level educational experience and is designed for dedicated students with career aspirations demanding a high level of accounting expertise.

MAcc candidates complete 30 credit hours comprised of graduate accounting core, accounting ethics, and elective courses after they have completed the required undergraduate foundations courses that represent sufficient preparation for accounting graduate studies.

Because foundations requirements may be satisfied by satisfactory evidence of prior preparation or by completion of these courses at UNO prior to starting graduate courses, students with or without undergraduate accounting degrees may be admitted to this program.

See other resources below.

MAcc Admissions and Degree Requirements

Admissions and degree requirements are presented in the UNO Graduate Catalog.

UNO Graduate Studies provides information on tuition, fees, and other factors to consider.

Please note that the application fee is charged by the Office of Graduate Studies, and the MAcc program does not have the ability to waive it or cover this cost for students.

UNO accounting programs maintain AACSB accounting accreditation. Final determination of CPA Exam eligibility remains under the discretion of the NBPA.
